Topping
Manage untidy grassland and stimulate fresh growth. Topping a pasture is a great way of managing grassland. If done on a regular basis it can help to keep the grass sward thick and vibrant. It also plays a vital role controlling weed incursion through preventing weed species going to seed and multiplying.
It can also be a relatively cost and time effective solution for getting an untidy area of grassland looking aesthetically pleasing again.
Here at the countryside maintenance company we have both a 3m mounted topper (for smaller paddocks or denser/overgrown swards) and a 4.6m trailed folding topper (for large areas of grassland/estate parkland maintenance).
Both cut and distribute the grass evenly behind them leaving a neat, even finish. This allows the cuttings to break down quickly and restore the nutrients back into the soil as a form of green compost.
